QualDerm Partners | Hoffman Estates, IL

Love patient care? Have a knack for keeping a busy clinic running smoothly? Put your leadership skills to work with us!

QualDerm Partners is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant for our Hoffman Estates practice. This is an opportunity to stay hands-on with patients while serving as a trusted resource for your clinical teammates and providers. If you enjoy teaching others, solving problems, and helping a team deliver exceptional care, we’d love to meet you.

Make an impact every day

As our Lead Medical Assistant, you’ll partner with the Practice Manager and providers to coordinate clinical workflows, support your fellow medical assistants, and create a welcoming, efficient experience for patients.

What you’ll do

  • Lead by example: Provide hands-on patient care while helping the clinical team stay organized, supported, and ready for the day.
  • Keep the clinic moving: Coordinate patient flow and adjust medical assistant coverage to support providers, manage changing patient volumes, and address backlogs.
  • Help teammates grow: Train new medical assistants, reinforce clinical procedures, and support the implementation of new processes.
  • Be a go-to resource: Serve as an EMA/ModMed superuser and help troubleshoot questions about documentation, supplies, staffing, and clinical workflows.
  • Support dermatologic care: Room patients, update medical histories, prepare exam rooms and procedure trays, and assist providers during exams and procedures.
  • Keep care connected: Coordinate patient and pharmacy calls, prescription requests, medication prior authorizations, and procedure scheduling as directed.
  • Maintain accuracy: Document patient care, prepare and track specimens, and communicate pathology and laboratory results according to provider instructions.
  • Keep the practice prepared: Manage clinical supply inventory, maintain instruments and equipment, and follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
  • Partner on practice improvements: Help research patient concerns and provide the Practice Manager with feedback on team performance and workflow needs.

What you’ll bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal medical assisting program and internship or two to three years of recent dermatology practice experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy medical office.
  • Comfort with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office, with the ability to become a trusted EMA/ModMed resource.
  • A dependable, collaborative approach and a willingness to pitch in wherever the team needs support.

Why you’ll love this opportunity

Combine the patient interaction you enjoy with the chance to mentor teammates and help shape the clinic’s daily success. You’ll work alongside dermatology professionals who value quality care, teamwork, and a positive patient experience - all while building your clinical leadership skills.
